Game Rules: Halve It (Darts)

Game Identity

• Name: Halve It
• Player Count: 2–8 players. Standard: 3–5.
• Teams: No teams. All players compete individually.
• Theme: Risk-reward darts game where failing to hit the required target halves your current score. Highest score after all rounds wins.

Scoring Mechanics

• Scoring Variant: Accumulative with penalty halving. Highest total after all rounds wins.
• Target Score: No fixed target — highest score after the fixed sequence of targets wins.
• Unit of Scoring: Points per round (from hitting targets), with halving penalty for missing.
• Lower vs. Higher: Higher score wins.

Per-Round Logic

• Each player throws 3 darts per round.
• Hit: If the player hits the target at least once, they score the total of all darts that hit the target (singles, doubles, triples all count their face value).
• Miss: If no dart hits the target, the player's current cumulative score is halved (rounded down). Starting score before any round is treated as 0 for halving purposes.
• Zero halved = still 0 (no negative scores).

Validation Rules

• Per-player per-round result: either a positive point gain or a halving of current score.
• Round scores entered as the points earned (0 if miss, but mark as "halved").

Special Actions / Bonuses

• Bullseye Round: Inner bull = 50, outer bull = 25. All bull hits count.
• Double/Triple Rounds: Only the required type counts (doubles-only rounds: must hit a double segment).

Win Conditions

• Condition: After all rounds, the player with the highest cumulative score wins.
• Tie-Breaker: Tied players play one additional round targeting Bullseye. Highest score in the tiebreaker wins.
