Around the Clock

Game Identity

• Name: Around the Clock
• Player Count: 2–8 players. Standard: 2–4.
• Teams: No teams (individual). Can be played in teams of 2.
• Theme: Darts game where players must hit numbers 1 through 20 in sequence before any other player finishes.

Scoring Mechanics

• Scoring Variant: Progress-tracking — no point total. Players track which number they are currently targeting.
• Target Score: Hit all numbers 1–20 in order (and optionally Bullseye to finish).
• Unit of Scoring: Numbers cleared (progress marker, not a point value).
• Lower vs. Higher: N/A — it's a race. First to finish wins.

Rules & Validation

Per-Turn Logic

• Each player throws 3 darts per turn.
• The player must hit their current target number to advance. Only the target number counts; any other number hit is wasted.
• Once the target is hit, the player advances to the next number immediately. With remaining darts in the turn, they may attempt the next number.
• Example: Targeting 5. Dart 1 misses. Dart 2 hits 5 — advance to 6. Dart 3 hits 6 — advance to 7.

Validation Rules

• Current target per player is an integer 1–20 (plus optionally 25 for Bullseye finish).
• Progress is monotonically increasing — cannot go backward.

Special Actions / Bonuses

• Doubles/Triples count: Hitting a double or triple of the target number still counts as hitting it once (advances one step). Some variants allow doubles/triples to skip ahead multiple numbers.
• Bullseye Finish (variant): After hitting 20, player must also hit Bullseye (25/50) to win.

Win Conditions

• Condition: First player to hit all numbers 1–20 (and Bullseye if using that variant) in sequence wins.
• Tie-Breaker: Cannot tie — the first to finish in turn order wins.
